Giving Priorities
The WBCP brings over 75 years of commitment and innovation to the field of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic training.
The Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis is partially funded by the generosity of tax-deductible gifts.
The WBCP Board has identified the following funding priorities explained below. Thank you for your generous support in changing lives.
General Scholarship Fund
This fund provides support based on financial need to any students for whom tuition would be overly burdensome without financial assistance, and to facilitate training for those employed in community settings working with underserved populations.
Wallwork Fund
This fund, named after Ernest Wallwork, Ph.D, to honor him for his generosity in making a large initial donation to this fund, is available to selected students from backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented at our Center.
Annual Fund
Your generous donation to the Annual Fund (formerly the General Fund) will help further the WBCP mission and important work of our Center by supporting its greatest needs.
2025-2026 Student and Candidate Tuition Costs Examples for Donation Purposes:
- Half-Year PSP tuition: $1,532
- Full-year PSP tuition: $3,065
- Half-year Candidate tuition:$1,740
- Full-year Candidate tuition: $3,480
- Half-year Advanced Candidate tuition: $1,100
- Full-year Advanced Candidate tuition: $2,200
Ways to Give
Give by Credit Card via the online form below. WBCP Accepts, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Securities – Stock gifts allow you to not only receive a tax deduction on the full value of the gifted securities but also avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated values. Please contact Joe Chirico, Executive Director at 202-237-1854.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) or a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) – Gifting from an individual retirement arrangement (IRA) directly to WBCP can have advantages. Instructions follow, though please consult your financial advisor.
Gifting a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)
For those with IRAs, at age 73 you must begin taking a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA that is considered taxable income. Any or all of your RMD can be donated tax free to WBCP.
Gifting a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
QCD gifting from an individual retirement arrangement (IRA) directly to WBCP can have certain advantages as well and IRA account holders who are at least age 70.5, can contribute some or all of their IRAs to charity.
Please have your IRA broker send a check, made out to Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis, directly to Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis 2120 L Street, NW, Suite 600-1, Washington, DC 20037
Bequests – Leave a legacy at the WBCP by naming WBCP in your will, make WBCP the beneficiary of your IRA, retirement plan, or life insurance. (You may change your plans if circumstances change). please contact Joe Chirico, Executive Director at 202-237-1854.
