Clinical Psychotherapy Program
2022 – 2023
Series of 5 one-day clinical case seminars.
Begins October 2022
About
The Clinical Psychotherapy Program is a series of clinical case conferences designed to focus on the practice of psychoanalytic/dynamic psychotherapy. These meetings will use clinical material to demonstrate theory and practice by psychotherapists. The program has as its goal and mission, to provide a place where psychoanalytically trained and practicing psychotherapists will be valued for their work and contribution to the field of psychotherapy with therapists who have been trained psychoanalytically from various schools and centers around the country, and internationally. The hope is that psychotherapists will find a place within the Washington Baltimore Center where psychoanalytical psychotherapy is acknowledged and valued.
The program’s intention is to welcome students and clinicians of all mental health disciplines to present clinical material in an environment of shared interest and exploration. Moreover, the atmosphere is focused on peer interaction for therapists from a range of clinical settings and varied cross cultural backgrounds.
Five meetings during the academic year, beginning in October, are scheduled to take place via Zoom and in person on the third Sunday of each month from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Meeting places will be determined by the policy of WBCP with regard to health safety considerations. Current students of the Psychoanalytic Studies Program at WBCP and other Psychoanalytic Centers, as well as graduates are encouraged to participate. Psychiatric residents at George Washington University and St. Elizabeths Hospital are admitted free of charge as are Fellows and current PSP students in the WBCP program. Students of other programs are admitted for $22, regular admission for 3 hours of Continuing Education Credits is $50 for WBCP members and $60 for nonmembers. Continuing Education Credits for all disciplines are available to all, including physicians.
